KEF is a champion for all public schools in Knox County by providing grant opportunities to educators, schools, and district departments through the Priority Based Grants program that funds proposals that focus on academic outcomes and have specific measurable goals. Any Knox County Schools employee, department, or school may apply for a grant during the open dates of the application window. The applications are reviewed by a grant committee consisting of professionals with backgrounds in education, strategy, and grants.

All interested applicants must complete an interest form to receive a required video and grant application.

After submitting an interest form, applicants will receive a confirmation email containing the required video and grant application.

Knox Education Foundation provides Priority Based Grants across multiple levels that support projects that accelerate student learning, address a challenge, or promote innovative ideas. These projects align with the four priority areas of Knox County Schools and have measurable outcomes.

Need Based

A strategy or project that targets the needs that address school challenges such as absenteeism or successful transitions (5th to 6th or 8th to 9th).


Accelerator Project

A project or approach that focuses on the acceleration of student learning.

Innovative Idea

An initiative or project that involves trying something new.
