Knox Education Foundation was excited to partner with three higher education institutions to offer the Project GRAD Summer Institutes to over 175 students from Austin-East and Fulton High Schools. The summer experiences were hosted at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, Pellissippi State Community College, and Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Knoxville.
Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT)
Seventeen Austin-East and Fulton High School students participated in the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Summer Institute. Scholars had hands-on experiences in Allied Health, Collision Repair, Industrial Trades, and Cosmetology.
Pellissippi State Community College (PSCC)
Sixty-Eight students from Austin-East and Fulton High School attended the PSCC Summer Institute. This program offered students hands-on career exploration in Business, Creative Arts, Health and Public Service, Media Technologies, & STEM.
University of Tennessee Knoxville (UTK)
Ninety-One students from Austin-East and Fulton High School attended the University of Tennessee Summer Institute. Scholars experienced a 1 week residential exposure to college. Scholars experienced career-specific courses in Business, Nursing, Health & Sports Management, Sports Psychology, and Engineering.
