Community Collaboration

One Book Read City was a true collaborative effort that united businesses, nonprofits, schools, and community partners. In partnership with Knox County Schools, Knox County Public Library, and Knox County Government, the initiative created a shared community dialogue around literacy and increased students' exposure to books.
With the support of school and community leaders, librarians, parents, organizations, and valued sponsors, nearly 30,000 books were placed into the hands of Knox County elementary students each year, helping make the program a success.
